Ultimately, my professional goal is to work with mental health patients in disadvantaged communities, where the obstacles impeding adequate healthcare are made worse by financial restrictions and stigma surrounding seeking psychiatric care. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am trained to provide advanced psychiatric care through psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. I plan to utilize my skillset to advocate for patients struggling with mental health issues across the lifespan, and to manage their treatment with empathy, understanding, and attention to holistic care.
