Dr. Amanda Carpenter, MD

Amanda Carpenter, MD, is a skilled neurosurgeon practicing at North Jersey Neurosurgical Associates in Ridgewood, New Jersey. 

Dr. Carpenter completed her neurosurgical residency at Rutgers University, with additional training in orthopedic spine surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Her practice is focused on diseases of the brain and spine. 

Dr. Carpenter’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of neurosurgery, including primary brain tumors, metastatic brain tumors, meningiomas, trigeminal neuralgia, degenerative spine disease, herniated discs, radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, spine fractures, spine tumors, scoliosis, chiari malformation, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Dr. Carpenter has advanced training in robotic-assisted spine surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, laser interstitial thermal therapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery. 

Dr. Carpenter’s philosophy emphasizes creating a highly individualized treatment plan for each patient. Dr. Carpenter’s research has been published in over twenty journal articles. She has presented her research at national neurosurgical meetings and authored dozens of research abstracts and three book chapters. 

Outside of work, Dr. Carpenter enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
