Andrew Peretz, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery. Dr. Peretz joined Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group, PLLC, in 1997, and he treats spinal disorders in both adults and pediatric patients at the practice’s locations in Fishkill, Newburgh, and Carmel, New York.
Dr. Peretz received his degree in chemistry from Princeton University and earned his medical degree from the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. Dr. Peretz then completed his fellowship in spinal surgery at the Institute for Spinal Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
He is currently a member of the North American Spine Society, the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Peretz is a member of the Medical Society of New York State, the Medical Society of Westchester County, and the American Medical Association. He has co-authored several publications and research articles involving the spine. He is recognized as a NY Top Doctor for 2024–2025 by NY Top Docs (USA Top Docs Division).
Dr. Peretz’s current hospital affiliations include Putnam Hospital Center, where he is the Director of the Spinal Institute, and Northern Westchester Hospital. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Very easy to make an appointment. I did not wait more than 10 minutes to see the doctor. Dr. Peretz did not push a surgical outcome, but was very happy with the progress I was making with physical therapy.

Dr. Carlesi is an amazing Physician who is compassionate and knows his craft. He always has ideas to try to make things better or less painful. He has been my doctor for many years now, and I wouldn’t think of seeing anyone else!!!
The procedure was “uncomfortable” But the results unbelievable. The pain I have experienced for the past few weeks is significantly diminished. Dr Huang and his staff have been wonderful I highly recommend his practice

Dr Carlesi has been my doctor for over a decade. I had been searching for several years to find the right doctor for me. Even though I am an RN and in the medical field for over 30 years, it was not that simple for me. After an injury causing herniated discs, etc.,… which caused unbearable pain almost constantly which in the beginning It felt like it started from the top of my head to my toes. I had previously seen,orthopedic specialists/pain management, neurologist, who were telling me there was nothing they could do for me. For some reason, their first thought was invasive surgery and two of the doctors said that I would not even survive surgery so there was nothing they could do for me I was overwhelmed physically and mentally. How would I be able to live the rest of my life feeling the way I did at that time. Then I was referred to Dr. CARLESI !! He is not only extremely knowledgeable, Think out of the box but he is one of the most compassionate people and Drs I have met. There ARE alternatives other than major surgery that can at least lessen the pain !!! I searched for a couple years to find the right Dr until I got it right. I absolutely recommend Dr Carlesi to anyone who is looking for relief from the constant overwhelming suffering, that people like me with chronic and acute pain deal with.

Very happy to get an appointment with SOMERS and get some positive assessment of my back problem. He sent me to get an appointment for MRI. The earliest Nouvance Radiology could do is July 16. Wish you folks could get MRI a lot sooner

He was very good. But I left realizing that he did not show me my x-rays. I really would have liked to see the x-rays and see if he found anything in particular, especially with the right hip. Please let me know if the pictures can be put online and that I can read his comments and I will logon to review.
