Atena Azarnia

Atena Azarnia, DDS, is a general dentist at Madison Family Dental Group with a special passion for cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Her journey has taken her across countries and cultures. She first earned her dental degree in Tehran, Iran, where she practiced for several years before continuing her education in the United States and earning her DDS from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.

Drawn to the combination of science, artistry, and human connection, Dr. Azarnia believes dentistry is about much more than teeth. She understands that a smile can influence a person’s confidence and quality of life. Her clinical interests include smile design, direct composite veneers, ceramic veneers, crowns, and conservative restorative treatments that preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible. She carefully considers each patient’s facial features, personality, and goals to create results that feel natural and individualized.

Dr. Azarnia has completed advanced education in aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry, including training through Malmö University in Sweden. Her continuing education includes smile design, composite layering techniques, ceramic veneers and laminates, restorative dentistry, dental photography, and tooth morphology. She was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society, and received the Ultradent Esthetic Dentistry Award.

Trust is central to Dr. Azarnia’s approach. She listens closely, explains treatment options clearly, and never wants patients to feel rushed, judged, or pressured. Her goal is for every patient to feel comfortable, heard, respected, and safe.

Dr. Azarnia speaks English and Farsi fluently. Outside dentistry, she enjoys family time, staying active, traveling, photography, art, and design.
