George was great. Visit was routine until I began to discuss a continuing problem pain I've been having in my back-glutes-upper legs. I went over what the previous doctor and I did but I still had pain. George took some time to exShow moreplain how the pain was most probably nerve pathways that come out of the lower spine being pinched by the degrading spinal column joints due to osteoarthritis (spinal stenosis). He then suggested taking a preparation containing Glucosamine, MSM and Turmeric. I believe this had been discussed before with the previous doctor but George gave me renewed hope that this might offer some relief as people with knee joint pain had reported relief as an example. I thanked George profusely for his advice and enthusiasm regarding my care. Can't wait to see how this works!
I was seen timely, first by an assistant who checked my weight, oxygen level, blood pressure and medications. Then an intern took my information and listened to my heart and checked for swelling and pain. Dr. Garcia came in promShow moreptly and completed the examination. She also was able to provide me with samples of some medication since I have reached my donut hole with my insurance provider. I always feel like I am among friends whenever I visit Dr. Garcia's office. All the staff is friendly and helpful. And having a Lab Corp representative present on site is a large convenience for me. I hope to see them all for another 20 years!

Dr. Garcia attended medical school at The University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated in 1996. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to start a residency at St. Joseph's Hospital, where she completed two years of OB/GYN training. She then transferred to the Department of Family Medicine, graduating in 2000.
Dr. Garcia was in private practice in the Maryvale community of Phoenix from 2000-2016, then joined Abrazo Medical Group from 2016-2022. Dr. Garcia began working at HealthyU Clinics in December 2022 when Abrazo-West Olive Family Medicine joined HealthyU Clinics. She is excited to continue caring for her long-term patients.
Dr. Garcia enjoys diabetes care, primary prevention, women’s health, and adolescent care. She also works part-time as a clinical faculty for the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, where she teaches student doctors how to interview patients, perform physical exams, and develop their clinical and critical thinking skills.
She enjoys being the "contractor" for patients' healthcare needs and works with specialists (aka subcontractors) to manage total care.
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Garcia often travels back to visit family and friends. She is married with three teenage sons and a furry little guy who all keep her busy and happy.

I have always had the best experiences with George Bernt-FNP-C. HE IS VERY RESPECTFUL, LISTENS TO ME INTENTLY WHEN I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL HIM. HE EXPLAINS THOROUGHLY EVERYTHING HE NEEDS TO TELL ME REGARDING MY MEDICAL SITUATIONS and if things are not as good as I expect or want them to be, HE discusses those situations which gives me understanding.
