My visit today not only confirmed my expectations but I also had a personal experience of a thorough, well-rounded and wholShow moreistic treatment of my foot issue. Dr. Shah is not only very knowledgeable and professional as a podiatrist and surgeon, he is personable, respectful and explained the cause of my ailment and the reason for the treatment he recommends. There was no rush or hurry.
Scheduling was easy and we were able to get an appointment fairly quickly. The staff was friendly and Dr.Biren Shah was wonderful! Biren Shah, DPM, provides foot care for the residents of Rockford, Illinois, at Midwest Foot and Ankle Associates. As a podiatric surgeon, Dr. Shah specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Shah grew up in India and earned an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering there. He relocated to the United States and earned an associate’s degree in nuclear medicine from Roosevelt University in Illinois.
Once he discovered his passion for medicine, Dr. Shah went to medical school at Barry University and completed extensive medical training during his residency at Mercy Hospital in Miami. He learned specialized skills in sports medicine, reconstructive surgery, trauma, pediatric podiatry, and diabetic wound care and limb salvage.
Dr. Shah spent considerable time training in advanced sports medicine techniques under the guidance of Miami Heat podiatrist, Dr. James Losito. He treated many professional athletes from the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins teams.
After his time in sports medicine, Dr. Shah went into private practice. From 2015 to 2016, he was an associate partner at Lee Podiatry Group in Fort Myers, Florida. In 2016, he joined Midwest Foot and Ankle Associates.
At his practice, Dr. Shah specializes in primary podiatric medicine, sports medicine, diabetic foot care, and reconstructive surgery. He performs arthroscopy, diabetic limb salvage, flat foot reconstruction, and traumatic injury correction.
Dr. Shah is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Illinois Podiatric Medicine Association. He has affiliations with the Rockford Surgery Center and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
When he’s off-duty, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He’s a technology enthusiast and an avid NBA fan. His favorite sports to play are beach volleyball and cricket.

The staff was nice. Dr Shah was very professional. He took time to answer any questions or concerns I have. Definitely would recommend anyone experience foot and Ankle problems to conducted Dr Shah.

Office staff very friendly and helpful. My left foot was causing me pain and was very uncomfortable. Dr. knew what my issue was and fit me for a shoe insert. After a week the foot started felling much better and after two weeks pain was gone. This was after trying other store bought inserts.
Dr. Shaw listens to every thing you need to cover and handles the vist with the utmost care. Truly a great Doctor and professional. Great to know I am under his care.

Dr. Shah and his staff are excellent. I visited the first time with an ingrown toenail which he took care of immediately. I asked if he did diabetic foot exams and he did that as well. He is my regular foot doctor now.
