Dr. Lewis is easily, one of the best doctors I have ever been to. He first brought me to his office and spent time listening to my problem. Throughout the physical exam, he made me feel very comfortable and kept up constant, lightShow more-hearted conversation. At no point did I feel like he was rushed or at a time constraint, like some doctors I have experienced. I left feeling like he acknowledged my complaint, explained everything thoroughly and offered a clear plan of action. I LOVE that instead of scheduling a follow-up, I can just e-mail him how I'm doing and know I'll get a prompt response. Dr. Lewis is everything you want a doctor to be! I had a great experience from start to finish with Dr. Lewis and his office. A close friend who is a world-renowned surgeon who specializes in gastrointestinal issues and insists on a careful, thorough physician to perform a coloShow morenoscopy referred me to Dr. Lewis. It was easy to make an appointment with Dr. Lewis, the office is very nice and the office staff is lovely, and I was taken promptly and did not have to wait. Dr. Lewis is extremely friendly, warm and patient and answered all of my questions. He listened with great interest to my medical history. He discussed the procedures he would perform with clarity and the preparations for the procedures with great specificity mixed with a good sense of humor. I would highly recommend Dr. Lewis.
Dr. Blair Lewis is a well-respected and experienced New York City gastroenterologist providing care for all sorts of gastrointestinal diseases and conditions at his private practice on Manhattan's Upper East Side. As a board-certified gastroenterologist with more than 72 scientific papers, 25 book chapters and three books to his credit, Dr. Lewis is skilled in a wide array of procedures and treatments aimed at diagnosing and treating GI issues, including endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy and colon cancer screening, as well as the care and management of diseases and conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), colonic polyps and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In addition to his private practice, Dr. Lewis holds a faculty appointment at Mount Sinai Hospital and is a clinical professor of medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Planning one's colonoscopy is not exactly an activity to look forward to. But Dr Lewis makes it pretty stress free. Also very pleased with office visit; seen right away - no waiting, and all the pre-test prep was fully explained is simple terms.
Dr. Lewis explained an issue I've been having that other doctors could not figure out and was both sympathetic and informative as always. I cannot recommend him more highly, and he runs on time!

I was having stomach pain and leaving town the next day for a month. Dr. Lewis' nurse got me in to see him that day, he arranged for me to have an abdominal scan the same day – actually immediately following the visit. Everything was normal. I got the result when the scan was done and Dr. Lewis called me the next day as well. He's also an excellent listener.
Dr Lewis takes time to speak to you, and listen to your concerns. He's very tech savvy and up to date on all medical issues. Love this doctor! Worth the inconvenience of getting to his office. He's smart, punctual, caring. He should teach doctors how to run their business and treat their patients.
