Blake Savage, DPM, MPH, is a fellowship-trained podiatric surgeon practicing at Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Institute in Henderson, Nevada. Dr. Savage has received extensive and comprehensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including reconstruction, limb salvage, trauma, and elective surgery. Having lived in various places across the country during his life, he is happy to now call Las Vegas his home.
Dr. Savage attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Russian. He went on to earn his medical degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. It was at Des Moines University that he pursued his interest in population health and concurrently received his Master of Public Health. He further completed a three-year surgical residency in St. Louis, Missouri, before finishing his advanced surgical fellowship training in Roanoke, Virginia.
During his training, Dr. Savage has been involved in clinical trials developing and testing novel medical devices, products, and procedures in concordance with the FDA to further explore new treatment practices. He has also coauthored peer-reviewed surgical publications on topics such as cavovarus deformity and rheumatoid arthritis.
Outside of work, Dr. Savage enjoys spending time with his wife and dog. He is an avid runner and enjoys any activities that take him into the mountains. He and his wife also enjoy traveling and tasting new restaurants.

This was my first visit as a new patient and I can honestly say that the 4 employees (reception, the nurse, radiographer and Dr Savage) that I interacted with were all so friendly, kind, and helpful. I genuinely felt like they cared. I’d highly recommend.

I almost cancelled my appointment but NOTHING to do with the doctor. Dr. Savage was awesome. Again, I stress my review has nothing to do with the doctor. Whatever operating system they are using or whatever you want to call it is SERIOUSLY lacking. First, you HAVE to use your phone just to sign in. Then there is the “paper work” ALL done thru your phone. You have to do all your initial first visit forms thru your phone. Overall, not a huge issue. However, the way I read the form was if you didn’t finish filling in all your forms by the time the doctor was ready for you then you would be charged a late fee of $50. I have been to more doctors than I can count and I have never heard of anything like that. In my opinion, ridiculous. Then, my absolute favorite…NO ADDRESS anywhere. I could not find an address to this office. I looked everywhere. Yes, you can use your map program, however, there is more than one location. I finally had to call to get an address. When I called for the address there was also a suite number that I needed. This particular location is located by Town Center and those stupid round-a-bout. Another reason for me not to go. When I finally get to the location, there is little to no parking. I need handicap and those were seriously lacking, as well. I turned a corner to find parking and run into the road blocked. Not just blocked but blocked with no way to turn around. You are forced to drive backwards and backwards while making a turn. When I get into the building, I’m looking for a directory, couldn’t find one. The elevators were very slow. Then the elevators are separated across from each other. One side is passenger, the other side is delivery/cargo. The only elevator that opened was the cargo. I took it not sure where I was going to end up at but it was fine. I didn’t end up in the basement or anything like that. Ha ha When filling out the “paperwork” there is no room for explanations. Such as, “have you had any surgeries?” Answer “yes” which sends you to your next page and a list of different types of surgeries, most written in medical terms and NOT ONE of them was related to anything that I have had done and I have had a lot of surgeries. Since I couldn’t proceed without checking one of the boxes, I had to go back and fill in “No” just to proceed. The whole process went like that. The staff seemed a bit impersonable EXCEPT the woman that helped me fill out the forms, Vicki. She was amazing!! The girl that did my x-rays seemed like she would have wanted to be anywhere but there. I always hate to say negative things about people because you don’t know what they are dealing with in their life or how they are feeling so I am not going to say anymore on that. The only staff that I had any issue with and it was all very slight issues, was the younger staff. Now, Dr. Savage was also amazing. I would go thru all the hassle just for Vicki and Dr. Savage. So depending on what you want from your doctors and their staff, well, that is up to the reader. Hoping this long winded review will help. My biggest issue was the whole address thing. Holy heck, I may just be old and set in my ways, but how do you get to your destination without an address. Doesn't make any sense in my book.

Dr. Savage was thorough, attentive to patient concerns. A great experience. I was disappointed at the accommodations letter prepared by his staff. I was provided a poor quality copy of the letter, sloppy, not professional looking, right side of letter body was cut off.
