Boris Betancourt, MD

Boris Betancourt, MD, is a triple board-certified physician specializing in pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and internal medicine. With over two decades of experience in healthcare and a focused practice in pulmonology since 2020, Dr. Betancourt provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients at Pulmonary Care Clinics in Cooper City, Florida.

Dr. Betancourt earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medical Science of Havana “ Faculty of medical science of Matanzas” in Cuba in 2003. He went on to complete 2 years preliminary general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, followed by an internal medicine residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in pulmonary medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and completed a sleep medicine fellowship at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in 2022.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Betancourt is committed to improving respiratory health and sleep quality for diverse patient populations. His clinical interests include asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, obstructive sleep apnea, hypersomnolence disorders and insomnia. He stays active in the medical community as a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).
