Dr. Brian Jacobs, MD

Brian Jacobs, MD, is an ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon, and glaucoma specialist at North Shore Glaucoma Center & Eye Physicians. Dr. Jacobs provides care at the Libertyville location in Illinois.

A graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Jacobs completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center (Rush University). He went on to complete a fellowship in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, Illinois.

When not attending patients at North Shore Glaucoma Center & Eye Physicians, Dr. Jacobs shares his knowledge and expertise as an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center. He’s also a clinical instructor at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Both Ruch and Pritzker are in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Jacobs is a board-certified diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). He’s a recipient of the Patient Care Improvement Project Award from the American Glaucoma Society (AGS).

Dr. Jacobs has written book chapters and articles in the field of ophthalmology.

In addition to general eye care, Dr. Jacobs specializes in the medical, laser, and surgical management of glaucoma, cataracts, corneal disease, and other eye disorders.

Dr. Jacobs believes in forming long-term relationships with his patients. This approach to patient care gives him the ability to catch eye problems early so that he can slow or stop the progression of any eye disease.
