Dr. Saal really cares about his patients and spends a lot of time explaining the condition, causes and treatment! I have been going to him for over 35 years. He is one of the few “honest” dermatologists around who will not over diShow moreagnose skin conditions in order to perform painful and expensive procedures for the purpose of generating large amounts of revenue for unnecessary procedures! Be cautious anytime a dermatologist tells you that you need a MOSE procedure! It is a very painful and expensive procedure that is only necessary if a skin lesion is advanced and cancerous; and only if the lesion can’t be removed simply with “freezing” (burning) off the lesion. Always ask for the biopsy to be sent to an outside lab for rather than done “in house”. If an outside lab reports it cancerous, get another opinion before having a MOSE procedure. With aging, almost everyone has many skin “lesions”, mostly keratoses. They can usually be “frozen” off with nitrous oxide and don’t require surgery. Be very cautious of anyone who tells you that you need surgery. A second opinion is always a good idea!!!

As always, Dr. Bruce Saal is a very knowledgeable dermatologist in Los Altos. He has been working in this field in the past 50 years and has been my family doctor in the past 15 years. He is super friendly and down to earth. He will answer all the questions that you are afraid to ask about your facial skin. He will make you look at least 10 years younger through the use of laser and good facial cream. If you cannot find a good dermatologist in the Bay Area, I highly recommend that you stop by to see Dr. Saal.
