Born and raised in Memphis, I was a cardiac intensive care nurse for many years before returning to school to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), my philosophy of care is rooted in the believe that every individual is more than a diagnosis--they are a whole person with a unique story, identity and lived experience. I approach each therapeutic relationship with deep respect for the dignity, autonomy, and complexity of the individual in front of meI also recognize the importance of trauma-informed care and the impact of systemic factors such as stigma, discrimination, and inequality--on mental health. My care is guided by principles of cultural humility, inclusivity and justice. Through the integration of evidence-based psychiatric treatment, psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions and community support, my goal is to foster holistic healing and help individuals move toward a fuller, more connected life.
