Carissa Hintz, OD, FAAO, is a residency-trained optometrist practicing at Rocky Mountain Eye Center in Missoula, Montana. She provides a suite of eye care services for patients and has experience managing various ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetes, and corneal conditions.
After growing up in rural North Dakota, Dr. Hintz received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a minor in chemistry from North Dakota State University in Fargo. She earned her doctorate from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon, before pursuing a residency specializing in ocular and refractive surgery at Chu Vision Institute in Bloomington, Minnesota.
While studying at Pacific, Dr. Hintz earned membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and held many leadership positions.
In her spare time, Dr. Hintz enjoys getting outside as much as possible and finding new trails on which to hike. She also enjoys playing the piano, running, and spending time with friends and family.
