Dr Cardenas has been my OBGYN for years. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He is so caring and always makes you feel that you are very important to him in spite of having so many patients. He takes time listening toShow more your symptoms/reasons for being there. His staff is amazing. They keep the office running smoothly. You are seen at your appointment time, never have to wait long in the lobby to be seen. I drive over 2 hours to see him, hope he stays around for many years to come.
With more than 40 years of experience working with women in all life stages, Carlos Cardenas, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist serving people in San Antonio, Texas. He provides a wide range of gynecology services, focusing on menopause management, preventive services and well-woman exams, and minimally invasive surgeries.
He completed an internship at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his residency training at Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann Medical College) in Philadelphia. Dr. Cardenas is a co-founder of the Institute for Women’s Health, the largest OB/GYN and fertility practice in South Texas.
Dr. Cardenas is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, Texas Medical Association, and Bexar County Medical Society. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Methodist Ambulatory Surgical Center.

Dr. Carlos Cardenas explains everything to you when it comes to solving any issues you are going through. He is the best and for that reason I will continue to see him for my care. And his staff is very welcoming and friendly!
Love the doctor, but tried of being charged for each thing , $50 here and there $50 for coming in for test results, you need a refill for med you have to come in additional $50 and then of course your yearly is coming up in a few weeks $50 . I don’t get any more. I feel like I’m visiting this office every month
Dr. Cardenas is the best GYN and is also guiding me on my weight loss. The staff are also the best and are very knowledgeable, kind and attentive.
