Dr. Carol Specter

Dr. Carol Specter, DNP, ARNP, PMHNP-BC provides psychiatric care for children and adults. Her specialties include ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, psychosis, alcohol use, and anger management. Treatment focuses on developing personal coping skills and addressing biological factors to reduce symptoms. She offers psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Dr. Specter is ANCC Board Certified with prescriptive authority and holds a doctorate from Fairfield University. Her training includes psychotherapy, medication management, and research-based clinical care. A U.S. Navy veteran, she served at Walter Reed on trauma and TBI units and later at the VA on the PTSD team. She has also worked in nonprofit clinics with diverse populations.
