C. Weston Whitten, MD, is a pain specialist at Nebraska Pain Institute in Lincoln, Nebraska. He is Double-Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Whitten was raised on a farm near Lexington, Nebraska and graduated from Overton Public School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with an emphasis in Molecular Biology in 3 years from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Dr. Whitten received many distinctions including graduating Summa Cum Laude and graduating from the Honor’s Program. Dr. Whitten then received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Whitten completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Upon completion, he furthered his training in Pain Medicine at the premier pain medicine fellowship in the country, Carolina’s Pain Institute-Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
While at Carolina’s Pain Institute, Dr. Whitten trained under several of the most prominent physicians in pain medicine. This group of doctors literally “wrote the book” on pain medicine and gave Dr. Whitten a unique insight into the treatment of pain. Throughout his training, Dr. Whitten participated in many novel pain treatment modalities, including numerous research studies that are helping to expand treatment modalities worldwide.
Dr. Whitten is well versed in the most cutting-edge pain treatment therapies. I was in the office today for injections. Dr. Whitten is extremely kind and professional. While pain injections are never fun, Dr. Whitten is very good at getting your mind off the obvious situation with his manner and conversations.
Great he listened to my problems and helped with me with solutions. Was wonderful and nice to talk with.
The staff have all been wonderful and listen to problems and concerns with health issues. We are still working to find the right solution for the pains my mother in law is having, but each time we come back in they have a way to tweak medications and try a different injection that will help increase the efficacy of the other injections.

Wonderful Dr., he listens to my concerns, I had my procedures done prior to April 2024 and then had the ablation done to my nerves. We’re gonna do that again the saw stems from a fall in October 2024 Dr.

I was very nervous going into get injections. They gave me a Valium to relax me, which did help. It went really smooth, just felt some pressure. This morning I got up and could hardly walk. My back hurts worse today than before the injection!
Dr. Is very personable during very stressful discussions. He takes the time to explain very complex and scary procedures with calmness and patience. He been very responsive to my questions and concerns during this difficult process. I’m looking forward to working with him throughout this difficult time.Of course much rather not have to go through this at all but since I have to I’m glad that he’s my Dr.

Life changing
I have been receiving shots in my back for pain relief and the results today were good. I have been treating this for 4 yrs and have been exercising 3-5 times a week I haven’t had to use my cane today for support & that is progress.
It went really well today,no waiting and was very good.Everone was super nice.Dr Whitten really is an excellent doctor.I have recommended him to my friends and family.
