I graduated from CUNY City College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Black Studies. I also graduated from New York University with a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health & Wellness. I have experience working with different populations in different capacities. These populations include children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, especially vulnerable and at risk individuals in urban communities. I have worked in fields including education, extra-curriculars, child welfare, foster care, prevention, and counseling. Representation is very important to me, as is mental health and wellness. That said, I treat my role as a Black woman provider in this field with dignity and professionalism. I have a keen sense of multicultural competence and can understand how intersectionalities such as background, practices, and identities influence how people navigate through and perceive the world. That said, it will always be in my best effort to create an environment where I will empathize with your experiences, assist you in learning from or about your weaknesses, as well as enhancing your strengths. My therapeutic approach is integrative, as Clients benefits from different aspects of different modalities depending on the stressors they bring into session. I also emphasize client-centered therapy, as it ensures your autonomy as a client and my support/guidance as your therapist.
