Dr. Chris Sparkman, MD

Chris Sparkman MD is a reputable primary care physician at Sparkman Family Medicine in Shenandoah, Texas. He has a passion for providing family medicine to the Shenandoah community and meeting the needs of his patients. 

Dr. Sparkman began his education at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology. Shortly after, he pursued his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. 

After earning his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Sparkman completed a family practice internship and residency at Memorial Family Practice Residency in Houston, Texas. There, he received the Harold T. Pruessner, MD, Award for Academic Excellence in Family Practice Residency.

With more than 20 years in the medical field, Dr. Sparkman has provided inpatient and outpatient physician services at several long-term acute care facilities in Houston and The Woodlands, Texas. He also served as Sparkman Medical Staffing, Inc.'s president in Shenandoah for many years. 

Dr. Sparkman holds a Texas medical license from the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification, and a United States Department of Justice DEA Certificate. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the National Lipid Association. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Sparkman enjoys watching sports, gardening, photography, and playing the guitar. He passionately seeks novel ways to care for his community, using his various experiences to improve his patient’s health.
