Dr. Merritt grew up in the small Houston suburb of Katy, Texas, and knew she wanted to be a doctor from age eight when a teacher taught her the science behind the human body’s functions.
Dr. Merritt earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she discovered her love of pediatrics. She completed a residency at the same institution. When she’s not caring for patients, she’s often on the tennis or pickleball court.
Merritt Pediatrics treats attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other mental and behavioral conditions in children, as well as allergies, asthma, and other chronic diseases. Dr. Merritt offers ear piercing, medication management, newborn care, sports physicals, well-child exams, vaccines, and more.
