I was blessed to be able to see Dr. Betrus. The kindest and most likeable man , relatable to the everyday common guy or gal.. gifted with genuine patience and the ability to explain to his patients their condition in everyday lanShow moreguage ,not in medical terminology that most people don't understand! My wife and I both commented that he was a breath of fresh air and so down to earth ... Alot of the Drs that I've seen lately are only concerned with the bottom $ .. not so of Dr. Betrus...The entire staff was efficient and gifted with genuine concern for their patients . I highly recommend him and hold a great deal of respect for him as well. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Everyone was nice professional and attentive. However my appointment was at the end of the day and the NP and the check out reception appeared to be rushing me out the door when I still had questions especially the NP I don’t thiShow morenk we communicated well his answers I understood but I’m not sure he understood what I was trying to ask. Next time it will be a morning appointment and I will try to write everything done so I don’t get frustrated and hopefully we will communicate better

Podiatrist Chris Betrus, DPM, joins the team at the Podiatry Clinic of Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee, having recently finished a fellowship in advanced foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at the esteemed Weil Foot, Ankle, and Orthopedic Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
During his fellowship, Dr. Betrus focused much of his training on complex reconstruction of the foot and ankle, minimally-invasive surgery, sports medicine, and total ankle replacement. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Betrus completed his surgical residency at West Penn Hospital, part of the Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During residency, Dr. Betrus served as Chief Resident during his final year and received specialized training in burn trauma, orthopedic trauma, reconstructive plastic surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and musculoskeletal radiology.
Dr. Betrus was born and raised in Metro Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and participated in crew. He then taught high school biology on the south side of Chicago for the next two years as a corps member for Teach For America and earned an Americorps Scholarship for his service. Following his teaching commitment, he received his medical training from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois.
He has dedicated his practice to specializing in the correction and rehabilitation of foot and ankle ailments, having had his own personal experiences with lower extremity injuries during his participation in high-level baseball and basketball. Dr. Betrus can relate to his patient’s needs, and help them achieve their goals, whether that be to return to high-level athletics or just their previous activities. Dr. Betrus has performed and presented research on early weight-bearing following foot and ankle surgeries, and strives to get people back on their feet as quickly and safely as possible.
Dr. Betrus’s primary goal is to fully educate his patient on their specific issues, discuss all the options for treatment, both conservative and surgical, and then make a decision with the patient on which specific treatment course best fits with their life and needs. His patient’s health and overall quality of life matter most, and Dr. Betrus is committed to helping his patients achieve their goals.
He is board qualified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is actively involved with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is on staff at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Dr. Betrus is new to Jackson and can be found enjoying an evening stroll with his beautiful wife Andrea, their baby girl Coco, and their miniature Schnauzer Ollie. His personal interests also include golfing, cycling, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Betrus was the first doctor to figure out what was wrong with my foot. He saw what my problem was and took care of it. He also told me he's available to call on if there's a problem if I need him.
