Dr. Gauland was born and raised in East Islip, New York. He studied at East Carolina University in Greenville, earning his undergraduate degree in biology. After graduation, Dr. Gauland obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Gauland completed two surgical residencies –– one at Midwest Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the other at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois. He also received specialty limb salvage training at the Diabetic Foot Center of Lake County, Illinois.

Dr. Gauland, is a very knowledgeable & professional provider. He has the best bedside matters and this is very important to me. He comes in and informs you again what procedure he will be performing. Dr. Gauland alone with his staff check and double check for accuracy and that you are the correct patient and procedure that you are at the SurgCenter to receive. I will be letting anyone that is seeking a great foot doctor that you can't find a better one than Dr. G. The employees were exceptional.
