There was only a 10 minute wait time to see the medical assistant and less than 5 minute wait time to get the x-rays on my left hip completed. I saw Dr. ChristopherShow more James shortly afterwards and next steps were discussed and all my questions answered to my satisfaction.

Christopher “Chris” James, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Specialists. He is proud to serve patients throughout Palm Harbor, Florida.
A Tampa native, Dr. James is a graduate of Jesuit High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University, where he played for the football team as a wide receiver. He went on to complete medical school at Saint George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and in select New York City area hospitals.
Dr. James completed orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Missouri - Columbia, followed by a fellowship in hip and knee replacement in Chicago’s Northshore University Health System. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. James has had extensive training in all aspects of both operative and nonoperative orthopedics. His primary interest is adult hip and knee reconstructive surgery that entails both primary and revision procedures. At Orthopedic Specialists, Dr. James performs a variety of procedures, including hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, periprosthetic fracture surgery, and knee and joint injections, to name a few.
He has been trained in the most advanced joint replacement surgery, including computer- and robotic-assisted techniques that allow for enhanced recovery and improved function. Dr. James uses minimally invasive approaches for his knee replacements and both muscle-sparing direct anterior as well as a mini posterior hip approach.
In his spare time, Dr. James enjoys trying to impress his friends and family with his culinary skills. As a former Purdue football wide receiver, he enjoys cheering for all Boilermakers sports. He also is a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

I need a knee replacement. I was born on bone. Dr. James is a total professional, extremely knowledgeable and cares about the patient’s well-being quality of life. I had a new robotic replacement and within 10 days you couldn’t tell that I even had a scar. Totally satisfied with the procedure.
