Danilo Herrera, MD, is a board-certified physician of obstetrics and gynecology who brings more than 30 years of experience to his practice at Bay Area Physicians for Women in Mobile, Alabama.
A native of Costa Rica native, Dr. Herrera was inspired to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an OB/GYN.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Saint Francis College in San Jose, Costa Rica. After adding his master’s degree at the University of Costa Rica School of Medicine in San Jose, then moved to Miami, Florida, to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Herrera is proud to provide comprehensive care to women through each stage of their lives. He prioritizes building strong doctor-patient relationships to empower women to take charge of their own health and well-being.
Dr. Herrera is a fellow with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). He is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Costa Rica, and several other professional organizations.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Herrera enjoys cycling, tennis, and chess.
