Dr. Carroll performed emergency small bowel obstruction surgery on my mom & saved her life. She would not have made it if he had not taken charge & did the surgery soon after we arrived at the hospital emergency room. He was so Show moregood with her, she is 87 years old and was absolutely scared to death. He continued to follow-up with her and she made it through this difficult and painful surgery due to his care. Thank you Dr. Carroll!

David Carroll, MD, is a skilled obesity medicine specialist at Lakeland Surgical Clinic, PLLC, in Jackson, Mississippi. He joined Lakeland Surgical Clinic in January 2024, and is excited to welcome new and returning patients.
Dr. Carroll is a 1988 graduate of Texas Tech University’s School of Medicine and completed his surgical internship and residency at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Carroll graduated with honors from medical school and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He later moved to Jackson in 1998 and opened a private practice. He has enjoyed personally training dozens of providers over the years in general and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Carroll is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and Mississippi State Medical Association. He is on staff at Baptist Health Systems, St. Dominic Hospital, and Merit Health River Oaks, where he conducts clinic on a weekly basis. He also works closely with three local hospitals to care for and provide weight loss surgery through their accredited bariatric clinics.

Dr Carroll is very knowledgeable when it comes to the digestive system and tract. He provided expert care at times when he could have easily turned it over to other doctors.

Everyone is patient oriented and the patient comes first. I will go again if need be. I have never had a surgery where everyone involved was so very nice, friendly and caring. And so was Dr Carroll. I was very impressed with his surgery. He did a perfect surgery. Thanks to everyone involved.

Dr. Carroll was very kind and patient to explain the problem with my gallbladder and why he recommended removing it. He explained and gave a pamphlet of how surgery would be performed. He also said how long the surgery would take and how long post surgery would be. I was very satisfied with the explanation of what to expect with my incisions and what kind of care to take. Check up was 2 weeks later and all was good and healing.
Dr. Carroll is great. Highly skilled and experienced surgeon. I recommend him.
