David McCann, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic specialist at Rocky Mountain Eye Center. He treats patients at the practice’s Missoula location.
As an oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. McCann performs surgical procedures related to the orbit, eyelids, tear ducts, and face. He has a special interest in cosmetic ophthalmological procedures, such as the correction of droopy eyelids, eyelid reconstruction, eye lifts, brow lifts, and Botox® injections. He also maintains expertise in the repair of tear duct obstructions and orbital fractures, and performs cataract surgery with state-of-the-art technology, like premium intraocular lens implants.
Dr. McCann attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences with high distinction and earned his medical degree. He relocated to Hawaii to complete an internship at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, and then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. He finished his medical training at the St. John Health System in Warren, Michigan, where he completed a fellowship in oculoplastic, orbital, and neuro-ophthalmic surgery.
He’s originally from Michigan, and spent 15 years living in Hawaii, where he taught as an assistant clinical professor of surgery in the ophthalmology division at the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and skiing.

The wait time was way longer than normal. 45 months nuts. Other than that everything was good.
I found the surgery center to be very efficient. The nurses who cared for me were professional, not only in their appearance but their attitude to keep me relaxed & comfortable. Plus, I had a good time joking with them. It's nice to see a group with a sense of humor. I'm extremely happy with my eyelid lift results & it hasn't even been a week. I am hopeful to continue my eyecare with Dr. McCann and Rocky Mountain. Great job everyone!
