Donna Reid-Washington (MHS, LPC) , a native of Charlotte, NC and raised in Washington, DC, is a successful self-help and counseling expert. As a licensed professional counselor I will guide others to broaden their perspectives. After 40 years in The District of Columbia Public School System, I retired to focus on her thriving practice, Love First PLLC emphasizing love as life’s core value. My mission is to help individuals cultivate self-love, retrain their minds, and navigate life’s challenges positively. My counseling approach centers on person-centered therapy, following Carl Rogers’ Theory of Personality, which emphasizes inherent positivity in individuals – he/she is a trustworthy organism. Utilizing this client-centered and eclectic approach, I identify possibilities, purpose, and potential in my clients. By understanding their unique perspectives on the issues they face, and their emotional responses, I tailor therapeutic strategies to suit their needs.
