Dr. Scott is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery at BOSS Orthopaedics in Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head Island, SC.
Dr. Scott’s expertise focuses on the shoulder and elbow, specifically in relation to sports medicine, trauma, minimally-invasive arthroscopy, replacement, and the complex reconstruction of these joints.
His training also included pediatric orthopaedics at the DuPont Institute and orthopaedic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering during his residency. He also completed the prestigious orthopaedic shoulder and elbow fellowship at Brown University, focusing on the upper extremity, including shoulder resurfacing, total shoulder and reverse total shoulder replacement, as well as advanced minimally-invasive techniques of shoulder and elbow arthroscopy.
Since beginning practice in the Lowcountry in 2012, Dr. Scott has performed hundreds of shoulder and elbow surgeries annually and has been voted “Best Orthopaedist” by readers of a local magazine.
Dr. Scott is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of numerous other professional orthopaedic and medical societies. He has authored peer-reviewed journal publications and academic book chapters for orthopaedic surgery, including being the lead author for a shoulder chapter in the 2025 edition of Orthopaedic Knowledge Update: Shoulder and Elbow 6.

Clear surgery recap and way forward. The best!
Dr. Scott is incredibly knowledgeable, dedicated, and passionate when it comes to the field of orthopedics. He truly understands the intricacies of the body, what can and does happen, and how to fix it. The bilaterally ulnar tunnel syndrome i experienced was no longer an issue after my surgery. I am thrilled! I appreciate all that he has helped me with.

Dr. Scott shows care and concern for procedures and recovery but also discusses the effect on your day to day activities. He takes the one on one time to discuss how to return to the daily tasks you may have altered due to an injury or surgical recovery. First of all I would like to thank Dr. Scott for all the time he have given me while I was his patience . He makes you feel very comfortable when he walks into your room and does a great job explaining your situation and how he will fix the problem. I play sports and thanks to him I am on my feet again..

Very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Dr Scott was very friendly and professional regarding my shoulder. He said he was glad I didn't require surgery as he said he always wants to avoid it unless it is absolutely necessary.
Dr Scott is professional and personable. He always greets you with a smile and addresses all your concerns. He does not like to go the surgical route unless it is absolutely necessary. I would highly recommend him to anyone with shoulder problems.
