Dr. Edward Buro

Edward Buro, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist at Mayfair Foot Care. He provides comprehensive foot care for people of all ages in Commack, New York, and surrounding communities.

Dr. Buro earned his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and his Master of Science in pharmacology at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Queens, New York.

He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City, where he now serves as an adjunct clinical professor of surgery. After graduating, Dr. Buro completed his residency in podiatric surgery at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan, New York.

Dr. Buro specializes in diagnosing and treating foot conditions, from corns and calluses to traumatic and slow-healing wounds. As a certified wound specialist with the American Academy of Wound Management, Dr. Buro has extensive experience caring for diabetic ulcers and other diabetic foot complications.

He is affiliated with several local hospitals, including St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, Huntington Hospital, North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System, Southside Hospital, and North Shore Surgicenter.

Along with his work in the clinic, Dr. Buro is passionate about education. He served as the Director of Podiatric Medical Education at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System and the Assistant Director of Podiatry at Forest Hills Hospital. He is also a past president of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Buro is a diplomate with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. He is a fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery, the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, and the American College of Podiatric Radiologists.
