As a practicing OB/GYN with more than 17 years of experience, Elizabeth Ramirez, MD, FACOG, is proud to provide health care to women at every stage of their lives at Jersey Women’s Care Center in Jersey City and Fair Lawn, New Jersey. At the practice, she speaks both English and Spanish.
Dr. Ramirez completed her higher education upon graduating from Universidad Central del Este, in the Dominican Republic, in 1993. From there, she returned to the United States and began her surgical fellowship at North Shore University Hospital, affiliated with Hofstra University, located in Manhasset, New York. She continued her residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in the OB/GYN Department, where she became the administrative chief resident.
Dr. Ramirez is highly advanced in minimally invasive gynecological surgery. Some of the services Dr. Ramirez performs include robotic hysterectomy, endometrial biopsy, and others, which Dr. Ramirez performs using minimal or local anesthesia only.
As a natural leader, Dr. Ramirez is involved in many professional organizations with like-minded individuals. She is active in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Medical Women’s Association, American Medical Society, and more. She is also affiliated with Christ Hospital and Jersey City Medical Center to further help women in the community.

After searching high and low, I finally found a doctor who truly listened and got the job done. From the very beginning, I felt heard, respected, and cared for. My surgery was scheduled quickly, and every pre-op and post-op appointment has been extremely thorough. Any questions I had were answered with patience, and every concern was fully explained so I always felt comfortable and informed throughout the process. It’s rare to find a doctor and office staff this attentive and professional. I’m so glad I found this doctor and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality care.

Dr. Ramirez helped me deliver my baby via c-section. She is a caring and experienced doctor. I had some complications after my c-section, and she went above and beyond to make sure I was recovered fully. All the doctors at this practice are exceptional, I have seen them all.
She’s very good doctor. A lot esperience. Make you feel comfortable, but she haves a lot pensions an doesn’t have a lot time for each one, in her practices work 2 more doctor but not good like her!

Professional
Had to wait over a hour to be seen. Saw a nurse practitioner instead. Had the worst experience of a doctors office ever. The nurse did not introduce herself before telling me to “slide down” on the chair. She did not ask me who I was, did not review my medical records or introduce the other woman in the room who was a student. When I asked who she was she said oh my bad I work backwards sometimes. This could have been a random woman acting as nurse for all I know. If I didn’t stop her from examining me before I made her introduce herself I could’ve been assaulted by someone random. Furthermore, when she did look at my history, she didn’t bother to actually read it or she would’ve been the breast cancer history in my family and that I don’t have a thyroid. When I asked her to slow down during the exam, she did not and told me she was in a rush because they were understaffed. During the breast exam, same thing. She then asked me if I wanted to continue the exam because I looked uncomfortable and annoyed in which I said I am because I feel like you are rushing even though I asked you twice to slow down. She then said she would get the office manager and my exam was not complete. I will not be back and I will not be recommending this place to anyone else. This nurse should not have a job and should not be able to exam patients ever again. She should not be “teaching” other student doctors either because the way she handled this situation was ethically and morally wrong in every way.
The office was very clean and the staff was very professional this was my first visit and they were so welcoming I definitely recommend her thank you so much
