Emily McKinnon

Emily received her bachelors of arts degree in psychology from North Carolina State University in December 2014 and received her master of science degree in occupational therapy from Lenoir-Rhyne University in August 2017. She began her career working as a hand therapist in Rockville, MD. She furthered her experience by working directly with a hand surgeon at INOVA in Fairfax, VA. Emily utilizes a holistic approach to treatment and is focused on assisting patients in returning to the activities they enjoy. Emily discovered her love for hand therapy when she was provided the opportunity to work at Naval Medical Center, Camp Lejeune in the outpatient orthopedic clinic, with a focus on hand therapy. While working with the active duty and retired military population she was able to gain valuable experience in custom splinting, manual therapy and work-driven treatment planning. In her free time, Emily enjoys cooking, reading and cycling.
