I have an advanced degree in molecular biology and have taught anatomy at the college level, including the anatomy of the eye, so I have a strong appreciation for clinical knowledge and technical competence. Dr. Straut impressed me immediately. His expertise, thoroughness, and confidence were clear, and I can honestly say that patients are in excellent hands with him. The entire visit was outstanding. I was taken back almost immediately, within just a couple of minutes of signing in, and I did not spend time waiting in one room after another. I was seen promptly, evaluated thoroughly, and treated with real care. The technician who performed my refraction was exceptional, and an incorrect prescription from my previous ophthalmologist was finally corrected. I was genuinely emotional with relief after this visit. Competence matters, and so does being treated like a person rather than a number. Dr. Straut and his staff delivered both. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for skilled, compassionate eye care.
So far my experience with Atlantic eye consultants has been great. First visit as a new patient was this morning. They did their best to fit me in last minute because I was having terrible eye strain and headaches from my currentShow more glasses. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The eye exam was thorough. I’m starting by replacing the lenses in one pair of my computer glasses. The optical department investigated the issues I was having with my progressives (from another dr and provider). They checked them out and said the fit and prescription alignment was all wrong, no wonder I never liked them. That gives me hope. They are also doing their best to get my new lenses in as soon as possible so my headaches and strain are relived soon as I am on the computer for 9-14 hours a day. I appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond the typical service I get elsewhere.

Outstanding experience at Atlantic Eye Consultants! From check-in, to eye exam and optical shop. Everything was 5 stars. Brooke explained everything about the eye exam throughly throughout the testing. Dr Straut provided information about cataracts. Stefany in the optical shop gave exceptional advice and assistance. Highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Strait was very personable and reassuring. Hus diagnosis of my vision issue was very thorough. I called his answering service on a Sunday. He immediately called me and made sure I got an appointment as soon as possible. The entire staff was amazing and went above and beyond to make me feel at ease.
Dr. Straut was excellent as always. He is currently working with me to battle a dry eye condition. We are trying out new solutions to the problem. He is concerned that we find a good solution that I can use without breaking the bank. I really appreciate that approach. The staff were extremely courteous as always, there are always a lot of patients moving in and out of the waiting room as we work our way through various tests and things and the staff handled it all beautifully.
