Dr. Straut is an exceptionally competent and knowledgeable ophthalmologist, and I could not be more grateful to have found his office. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff was kind, considerate, polite, and professional. ThShow moreat level of attentiveness was a refreshing change from the indifference that patients too often encounter in medical settings. I have an advanced degree in molecular biology and have taught anatomy at the college level, including the anatomy of the eye, so I have a strong appreciation for clinical knowledge and technical competence. Dr. Straut impressed me immediately. His expertise, thoroughness, and confidence were clear, and I can honestly say that patients are in excellent hands with him. The entire visit was outstanding. I was taken back almost immediately, within just a couple of minutes of signing in, and I did not spend time waiting in one room after another. I was seen promptly, evaluated thoroughly, and treated with real care. The technician who performed my refraction was exceptional, and an incorrect prescription from my previous ophthalmologist was finally corrected. I was genuinely emotional with relief after this visit. Competence matters, and so does being treated like a person rather than a number. Dr. Straut and his staff delivered both. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for skilled, compassionate eye care.
Great visit. This doctor was so eager to answer questions .. and he told me my eyes are in good shape. I recently decided to leave the doctors office I was with for several years when the person at the check in was rude.. She tolShow mored my copay was $15 .. but then she said I have a copay of $55 for a glare test.. I had never heard of that, was not told I was having a glare test and when I asked.. she was very rude.. and told me I would have to wait for the techs to get off break for the answer.. I decided.. even though I was very happy with my doctor.. I would not put up with her attitude.. I continued with that visit.. told my doctor what happened.. but not going back... She did me a favor because I love Atlantic Eye.. Dr Straut explained what a Glare test is.. and also said.. they don't charge for it. So I believe I was being milked at Tres Vision.. thats my opinion..

They are well organized. They keeps things rolling along with a good system.
Dr. Strout was very thorough and completely explained the situation with my eye. He went over all of the possible solutions clearly and referred me to another doctor in the practice to see if he could help me.

So far my experience with Atlantic eye consultants has been great. First visit as a new patient was this morning. They did their best to fit me in last minute because I was having terrible eye strain and headaches from my current glasses. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The eye exam was thorough. I’m starting by replacing the lenses in one pair of my computer glasses. The optical department investigated the issues I was having with my progressives (from another dr and provider). They checked them out and said the fit and prescription alignment was all wrong, no wonder I never liked them. That gives me hope. They are also doing their best to get my new lenses in as soon as possible so my headaches and strain are relived soon as I am on the computer for 9-14 hours a day. I appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond the typical service I get elsewhere.

Dr Straut is amazing . I was having a problem with left eye in the corner. He immediately knew what the problem was - there was an eye lash touching my eye. He gently removed it and it feels fine now. Thank you Doctor
