Francis Okafor, APRN

Thank you in advance for reading my profile. I came to the United States of America in 1997. I joined the US Army National Guard (both Missouri and Kansas) in 2001, where I served as a Medic for 8 years. After my military service, I chose to go to nursing school. I graduated with my MSN from Walden University as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2020. My passion for psychiatric nursing was born out of my desire to assist vulnerable individuals attain possible health and independence through medication management and support. My approach to care is to remain calm with my clients, show personal interest and understanding of their needs, take my time to view and understand the client’s perspective, acknowledgment of the client’s feelings and to take care of my own needs as a provider. My overall expectation is for clients to leave feeling respected, listened to and provided all possible solutions to their concerns.
