Dr. George Trappey, MD

George J. Trappey IV, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon on the team at the Center for Orthopaedics. He is passionate about treating patients in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and the surrounding area.

Originally from New Iberia, Louisiana, Dr. Trappey received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He earned his medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.

Dr. Trappey completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went on to complete a fellowship in shoulder and elbow reconstruction surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School.

During his fellowship, Dr. Trappey was involved in many research studies at the Foundation for Orthopedic, Athletic and Reconstructive Research in Houston. Dr. Trappey joined the Center for Orthopaedics in 2010 and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

At the Center for Orthopaedics, Dr. Trappey works to heal patients quickly from their injuries and get them back to living a high-quality life. He enjoys building long-standing relationships with each person he sees, always providing them with the highest level of attention and care.
