Dr. Ortiz and her staff are always incredibly caring, thorough, and professional. The clinic is always extremely clean and services are usually completed in a timely manner. Whether by phone or through the portal, they make communShow moreication easy. Plus they have an in house lab and imaging now. Lastly, I can’t say enough about Dr. Ortiz bedside manner! She remembers who you are, your family, things going on in your life, and does such a wonderful job connecting with the patients on a personal level. It’s a pleasure and comfort to be treated by such a wonderful care team! They made a thyroid issue during pregnancy feel not as stressful with their attention and detailed care plan. I don’t hesitate to recommend RGV Endocrine!
This was my first time at RGV Endocrine Center today. First of all the front staff called my medical doctor because I forgot my referral form. They were very friendly, and professional. Shortly, after that I was in to see Dr. OShow morertiz, I was taken to a room where my vitals were taken then took me to another room where the nurse continued to ask me further questions regarding my visit and health questions. Dr. Ortiz walked in shortly after that. She took her time listening to me about my concerns. She proceeded with her assessment and putting all information in the computer. Again, Dr. Ortiz was very thorough explaining to me everything. I would definitely recommend this practice and Doctor to anybody.
Gloria Ortiz, MD, FACE, ECNU, is an endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism specialist practicing at RGV Endocrine Center located in McAllen, Texas. She has more experience with diabetes and thyroid disorders than other specialists in her area and considers it a distinct honor to serve individuals living in Hidalgo County and throughout southeastern Texas.
Dr. Ortiz graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre Y Maestra (Pucmm) Fac De Cien De La Salud in 2002 and went on to complete her endocrinology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Ortiz is triple board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, as well as obesity medicine. She is also a fellow of the American Association of Endocrinologists (FACE) and has an Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ENCU).
To better serve the communities of southeast Texas, Dr. Ortiz is fluent in both English and Spanish.

I was running late, but I got there right at the 15 minute mark. If a patient arrives late they call the doctor and the doctor decides if the patient will still be seen. I was blessed to be seen by Dr. Ortiz who made me feel special. She was very thorough with my diagnosis and even went beyond the call of duty.
