My wife has for a couple of years and still is being treated for Macular Degeneration with this practice. I got a referral from my eye doctor to have a retina concern checked out. They were amazing in helping me get in quickly. ThShow moree whole support staff at the practice were incredibly nice, helpful and caring. Last but certainly not least Dr. Gowtham was awesome ..he’s thorough and explained everything during the appointment and I have a follow up that I’m looking forward to going back to them for a check up! From my wife’s and now me getting my first interaction with them as a patient I highly recommend them and will gladly steer friends and acquaintances here for any treatment they ever need for their specialty!
I was visiting Austin from overseas and Dr Jonna and his team went out of their way to accommodate what must have been some quite unusual requirements. Gowtham Jonna, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in retinal and vitreous care at Retina Consultants of Austin, with offices in Austin, Lakeway, Marble Falls, and Round Rock, Texas.
Dr. Jonna received a scholarship from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, to pursue his undergraduate education and graduated with multiple awards for his academic excellence. After graduating with his degree, he went on to complete his medical school training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during his junior and senior years.
He completed an internship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, engaging in intensive research for retinoblastoma (eye cancer found primarily in children) under the guidance of Dr. David Abramson. Following his internship training, he pursued his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was elected chief resident. He also received fellowship training in retinal surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Upon completing his studies as a first-year medical student, Dr. Jonna developed a strong fascination with vitreoretinal diseases and has ever since been improving upon his knowledge and expertise of the field.
Since 2017. Dr. Jonna has been providing eye care at Retina Consultants of Austin. He looks forward to providing you with the compassionate and patient-centered care you deserve.

I’m very grateful to Dr. Jonna for the excellent care I received. He performed surgery on my left eye to remove a large floater, and the results have made such a difference in my vision. Would have wanted recommendations or suggestion on an eye drop for dry eyes and wash eye solution to purchase, since there’s so many in market to buy.

Dr. Jonna is an amazing Doctor. The check in lady was very nice. As for the lady that gives you the eye drops, she is very rude sometimes. They were very behind when I had my appointment and it was way past my appointment time. I asked how much longer it would be and they said there was 3 patients ahead of me. My daughter had an appointment after mine and we were going to be late. No one told me that we're behind. I told the woman that did my eye drops that I might have to reschedule and she said we'll I guess you might really rudely. If they got rid of her it would be great and when they schedule your appointment actually take you at that time.
This doctor listens to each question as if it was the most important of all time. He adjusted my scheduled visit based on my problems with limited vision right after the treatment.
