Heather obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University in 2007, majoring in Child Development with a minor in Human and Organizational Development. Heather continued her studies at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2008 with a focus in pediatric nurse practitioner primary care. Heather has a passion for pediatric neurology with a special interest in caring for children with developmental delays, autism, tic disorders, concussions, headaches, and epilepsy.
Before joining THINK Neurology for Kids, Heather practiced for 15 years as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner in Montgomery County, TX. She spends any spare time she has with her husband and their two children.

Dr. Mandava was amazing the whole process. He answered all of our questions with clarity and patience. He helped us in making the right decisions for our daughter by reviewing with us all options and the research supporting the options. Where he exceled was his ability to listen to our concerns and answer questions. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He is truly one of the best.

Dr. DrForest really took the time to listen, observe, share feedback, asked lots of great questions about my child, tried to get to know my child, and even came back into the room when I had follow up questions. She was patient and understanding when my child needed it and genuinely cared. She was friendly, while still maintaining her professionalism. I'm so glad she's on our team!

Dr DeForest was amazing! She was so patient with our child and helped explain the differences in types of ADHD. Our child also only speaks Spanish and she attempted to communicate with them even if she only knew a little bit. The attempt alone made my heart smile
