Heather Sturgeon, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Heather Sturgeon, PMHNP-BC, is a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 15 years of clinical nursing experience specialized in mental health care. She earned her MSN degree from Vanderbilt University in 2016 and began her career working as a RN at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital in 2010, gaining her further expertise in treating acute and complex mental illnesses. While pursing her MSN degree at Vanderbilt, Heather transitioned to outpatient care, working with children, families, and schools as a PMHNP faculty-level member at Vanderbilt Behavioral Health. Over the past 6 years, Heather has expanded her career by providing psychiatric services to individuals throughout Tennessee correctional settings, advocating tirelessly for open and easy access to essential, quality mental health treatment. To this day, Heather remains committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive, psychiatric care to underserved individuals of all ages, gender, and socioeconomic background.
