Ivan J. Antosh, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine, proudly serving patients at New Braunfels Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine in New Braunfels, Texas.
A native of New Braunfels and graduate of New Braunfels High School, Dr. Antosh earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. He went on to complete a prestigious orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at West Point, New York.
After over 20 years of service in the United States Army — including four overseas combat deployments — Dr. Antosh retired in the summer of 2025. Throughout his military career, he provided orthopaedic care for athletes and elite military teams, including the Army football team and special operations units.
Dr. Antosh specializes in advanced orthopaedic sports medicine procedures, including tendon and ligament reconstruction, cartilage restoration, and shoulder and knee reconstruction. He is especially interested in shoulder replacement and minimally invasive arthroscopic hip preservation surgery.
Committed to providing personalized care, Dr. Antosh empowers patients with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their health and recovery. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and other leading professional organizations and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.

I had a great experience from calling to schedule an appointment, the front desk check in, wait time was short, x-ray tech, and check out. Dr. Antosh was excellent! He explained my MRI findings, was very caring, and mindful of my pain with range of motions. He explained everything clearly, with a clear plan of action. He has great bed side manners. I definitely recommend Dr. Antosh and New Braunfels Orthopedic group!

Dr Antosh was on call the night I fell & cracked my femur at my hip. He was very nice & I think did a good job fixing my bone. Never had pain in the hip but just the muscles in my thigh from my fall.
