My first appt with Dr. Mendoza made me think of our caring Dr. Huira who we have sadly lost. Dr. Mendoza is an excellent dentist with personal skills that made me feel comfortable as I came in with a painful tooth that I had a newShow more crown put on earlier this year. He knew instantly that my bite was off and he adjusted the top of the tooth and now hot nerve pain has greatly lessened just in a few hours. I am glad I went in sooner rather than later as Dr. Mendoza said I could have killed the nerve and the tooth. They did not charge me. I have a problem with my bite and he recognized that & he kept at it until it was finally completed. I thank he and his assistant Shirley very much.

About The Practice
Alex Mendoza, DDS, is an experienced dentist at Japantown Dental in San Jose, California. He is passionate about delivering high-quality care and loves to use conservative dentistry to help patients achieve healthy, functional, and brilliant smiles.
A San Jose native, Dr. Mendoza received his bachelor's and master’s degrees in biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He then graduated from one of the top dental schools in the country, the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Mendoza has special interests in Invisalign®, implant restoration, and restorative care and practices ethical and non-invasive dentistry. He is not only committed to maintaining and improving patient's oral health but is also concerned about their overall health. An integral part of that philosophy involves an emphasis on prevention and early detection, such as keeping decay to a minimum so patients can retain the majority of their natural tooth structure while also looking at the long term health of their mouth and teeth.
He stays up-to-date on the latest advancements in his field and is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara County Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of work, Dr. Mendoza enjoys playing and watching sports such as basketball, football, and soccer. He also likes traveling, experiencing new cultures, cooking cuisines from around the world, and trying new foods. He loves to spend time with his Husky, Hiro.

I was able to get in immediately and get my dental problem diagnosed.
