How can I put into words such euphoric feelings. It is a very busy day for me trying to keep up with all kinds of congratulations. Questions of restrictions and limitations, I have been giving out Dr. Honet's name to many people. Show more(I used to have a Dr. Mary Goldman D.O. at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital who was very good at pain mgt. But now Dr. Honet, is not just a doctor but a Neuro Consultant. He really does miracles. He does not need to advertise. His name speaks for himself. I was having a mental breakdown, too soon, too quick, thoughts of ending up in a wheelchair. Nervous, irritable, all the adverbs that almost lead me to sound rude at times, much to my chagrin. Dr. Barnes reassured me he is the best there could ever be for this procedure. Thank you Dr. Barnes. Dr. Honet and now here is an ode to you. Funny, jovial,. quick witted. a doctor that puts you at ease, makes you trust him. I am so glad I did. What a difference today is from yesterday. To all the help that took part in my surgical procedure. The lovely anesthesiologist. The assistants. The saintly nurse that took care of me, who I will never, ever forget. A great algorithm that flows like honey. Dr. Honet, you are the honey itself. but one thing and one accolade that i need not forget, is the way you act. A doctor, a specialist that is down to earth. Not full of himself at all. Wants the patient to get better, wants to use his skill to give a better life, and he only knows that he can bring forth that change. Well done. I will always pray that his hands will stay healthy, so that many other patients can enjoy the fruits he bears through his expertise. I am really anticipating the visits that many of my friends will enjoy through him and hence the alleviation of their own pain. A new discovery for me and many more who are suffering. I can honestly say that I appreciate my doctors level of concern for observing my facial expressions and body reactions last month's vusit in office and and this telehealth visit! Dr. Honet took time to explain imjection protocol Show moreto clarify if and when I could receive injections for nerve pain for neck amd shoulder! I appreciate Dr. Honets approach to me as an individual and not just anothet patient! His level of concern for "whats going on in my world" is greatly respected by this patient! I think we are going into 4 years and I am quite pleased most of the time with his advice concerning other treatment modalities! As a fibromylagia and arthritis, Dr. Honet will listen and provide sound advice! I dont always agree but thankfully, he hears my side and provides the pros and cons of his treatment plan. Then we decide TOGETHER how to proceed! Finally, I would suggest that if you are searching for a specialist who is an expert in his field, as well as a specialist who is honest, concerned, and very professional, and enjoys what he does, try him ,and his staff! Thete is noooo long waiting, and your day wasn't spent all day at his office! And any questions concerning your treatment will be addressed before you leave his office!
James E. Honet, MD, is a highly qualified and board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist at Neuro Pain Consultants in Bloomfield Hills, conveniently located in the northern suburbs of Detroit’s metropolitan area, and Clarkston, located in Oakland County in southeast Michigan. His special interests include spinal fractures, spinal stenosis, acute and chronic pain, complex regional pain syndromes, and joint pain.
He began his medical career as an undergraduate student at Michigan State University, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Honet earned his medical degree at Albany Medical College in New York, where he also performed an internship in internal medicine. He continued his post-doctoral education at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he completed a residency in anesthesiology. While finishing up his clinical studies, he also earned the Arthur B. Tarrow Research Award for best resident research.
Dr. Honet’s interests in anesthesiology and pain medicine extend beyond clinical work into research and teaching. He’s written numerous research articles and abstracts of scientific papers on pain management and anesthesiology, in addition to a textbook chapter.
Dr. Honet is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology with an additional certification in pain management. He’s a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Pain Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists, and the International Spinal Injection Society.

I was a little anxious to have an injection in my spine but one I arrived at the office I felt I was in good hands. The procedure took less time than changing into the gown. Dr Honet explained to me what was happening as he worked. When the procedure was over I felt fine having the support team explaining what I might experience in the coming days. As it turned out, other than feeling the benefit from the injection, I did not feel any side affects.

Dr. Honey is the only doctor that I have seen out of their practice. As far as Dr.s’ go he is one of the best and most understanding physicians that I have ever met. I did meet Lisa(nurse practitioner) , she is o.k. , a little high strung, but seriously tries to help.
