Jason Daras, DO, is a distinguished anesthesiologist at Union Spine and Pain Management. The practice has locations in Union, Scotch Plains, South Bound Brook, New Brunswick, Old Bridge, and Woodbridge, New Jersey. Dr. Daras specializes in regional anesthesia, postoperative pain management, and ambulatory and hospital-based anesthesia.
Dr. Daras began his education at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghampton, receiving his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. Shortly after, he earned his Doctorate of Osteopathy at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York.
He later completed a traditional osteopathic rotating internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York, followed by his anesthesiology residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York.
Before joining the Union Spine and Pain Management team, Dr. Daras served as the director of several hospitals and clinics in New Jersey through Morris Anesthesia Group in Parsippany-Troy Hill. These locations include Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville, Premiere Medical Associates in Sparta, and Hanover Hills Surgery Center in Florham Park.
Dr. Daras holds his New Jersey state medical license and is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) for regional anesthesia.
Actively engaged in the medical community, Dr. Daras is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists.
Outside the office, Dr. Daras enjoys diverse interests, including playing the guitar, cooking, and engaging in sports.
