Professional, sympathetic and thorough, Dr. Mahajan took my case after nearly 2 years of being passed from doctor to doctor remaining improperly diagnosed and/or treated while I literally began to live unmoving in a recliner and nShow moreeeded both assistance to get dressed and a walker to move around. Following extensive testing under his supervision he was convinced he had the proper diagnosis and shortly after starting treatment my pain became almost negligible, I began exercising to regain my lost strength, started to go golfing after well over 2 years of the inability to stand and walk, let alone swing, begin to go again with my wife to do dance aerobic classes and steadily return to a normal life. I feel like I have been given a new lease on life thanks to his "We're going to do everything to find the answer" concerned approach and expertise and I am so grateful to my referring Neurosurgeon Dr. Schneier who told me he would not proceed further after his MRIs and Xrays had been taken and analyzed because Dr. Mahajan was the person I needed to see, taking immediate action to get me taken under his care. Since then it's almost like having a miracle happen. The staff there at Las Vegas Neurology has been exemplary in making appointments, scheduling my needed infusions and follow-ups, too. SO happy to be gaining a full life again!
Every time I see Dr Mahajan he is completely attentive, focused, understanding, kind and determined to help. I have never been to a provider like this before. He is outstanding. I found out about him from a referral and I now refeShow morer everyone I know to him. His PA's and NP's are also outstanding. This office gives you everything you need to know when you leave with referrals, what you need to do next step by step, helpful information about whatever you have going on and lots of contacts to coordinate your care. Also, if you have an referral to another part of this clinic, they call you within a week to schedule it and I have never had a huge wait time. Even when the clinic is packed full of patients, they move through the crowd quickly and if they do have a delay, the are honest and give you real wait times. I love everything about my experience with LV Neurology and Dr Mahajan.
Jay Mahajan, DO, is a board-certified neurologist at Las Vegas Neurology Center. He has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, for over ten years. Born and raised on the West coast, he has anchored himself in Nevada and is dedicated to serving the Las Vegas community.
Dr. Mahajan was selected to be a member of the University of California at San Francisco's biomedical internship program at a young age, sparking his interest in medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley University and University of Southern California in biological sciences and biomedical ethics, where he was on the Dean’s list and a member of the Biology Scholar’s Program.
After achieving his undergraduate degree, Dr. Mahajan relocated to Nevada where he received his medical degree at Touro University Nevada. Upon completion of medical school here in the Valley, Dr. Mahajan felt invested in the Las Vegas community. Devoted to maintain his medical services, he accepted a position in the neurology residency program at the Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas where he served as Chief Resident. He was awarded Resident of the Year honors in addition to awards for service excellence during his residency.
He is co-founder of Las Vegas Neurology Center and the primary neurologist for Centennial Hills Hospital. He was nominated and elected by his peers to serve as a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Centennial Hills Hospital. In January 2016, he was selected as Outstanding Physician at Centennial Hill Hospital. He is also core faculty for the Neurology Residency Program at the Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he thoroughly enjoys teaching residents and medical students. Practicing medicine and teaching is one of Dr. Mahajan’s greatest passions. During his free time he also enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling.

Speaking with Dr J was an actual pleasure we talked about all my concerns and issues came up with a plan to address these issues and we talked about any concerns I had. What I like about this doctor he talked to me not at me it's nice when you can walk into a doctor's office and they take the time and don't rush out thank you Dr Jay and staff very nice and professional experience at your office.

Pleasant knowledgeable physician. Ordered testing to identify the cause of my chronic dizziness X 3 years. Hopefully will get to the bottom of it. Was told by Dr. Zag at Centennial Hills Hospital the cause was from long Covid, following up with this group as instructed on discharge in May 2025.
