Born in Cameroon, and raised in Paris, France, Dr. Jean Louis Benae came to the United States at the age of 20 to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He pursued a degree in Physiological Sciences and graduated with honors. He continued his education at the David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine, where he obtained his Doctorate in Medicine.
During his graduate medical education, his fascination for neuroscience led him to a neurotrauma research fellowship with the UCLA Brain Injury Research Center. After completing his research fellowship, Dr. Benae began his neurosurgery specialty training at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee.
Throughout his extensive training and professional experience, Dr. Benae has accrued remarkable versatility with complex spine and minimally invasive spine surgery.
His unique approach to spine care involves a comprehensive care model. “In our clinic, we have a comprehensive approach to spine care. Dr Benae is wonderful! I can now enjoy life again without sciatica pain. I love my spinal cord stimulator. Dr Benae has a wonderful bedside manner and even called me himself to make sure I was doing well after surgery. If you are in pain, get an appt right away!

Dr. Benae and staff are excellent and they treat you with decency and respect. I believe he is the best surgeon in the area. Had a complex back surgery and he did the work. Much better. Before, some nights, there were tears and max pain. Now there is little. Just needs to heal.
