Born in Cameroon, and raised in Paris, France, Dr. Jean Louis Benae came to the United States at the age of 20 to attend the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He pursued a degree in Physiological Sciences and graduated with honors. He continued his education at the David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine, where he obtained his Doctorate in Medicine.
During his graduate medical education, his fascination for neuroscience led him to a neurotrauma research fellowship with the UCLA Brain Injury Research Center. After completing his research fellowship, Dr. Benae began his neurosurgery specialty training at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee.
Throughout his extensive training and professional experience, Dr. Benae has accrued remarkable versatility with complex spine and minimally invasive spine surgery.

Everyone at Dr. Benae’s office is very friendly and knowledgeable. I was very comfortable discussing my problem with Dr. Benae. He thoroughly explained the diagnosis and procedures to correct the issues. My husband and I asked many questions and Dr. Benae took his time and explained the answers to our satisfaction.

Dr. Harrison Lewis saw me. When I tried to ask a question, he would over talk me, before I could finish. Seemed liked he was in a rush. He spoke quickly and delivered his opinion in record time. I do not care for that kind of physician.
