Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, md

Board-certified neurosurgeon Jeffrey Johnson, MD, provides expert brain and spine care to the Pacific Northwest at Portland Neurosurgery, located in Portland, Oregon. He is a more conservative neurosurgeon than most and always attempts to avoid surgery if at all possible. He is committed to being honest with patients and takes a collaborative, individualized approach to treatment plans.

Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from Columbia University in New York in 1990, followed by a surgical internship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and a clinical fellowship in surgical neurology at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his neurosurgical residency at The Neurological Institute of New York, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, in 1997. 

Dr. Johnson was in private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before coming to Portland, Oregon, in September 2000. 

Dr. Johnson understands that brain and spine issues can cause debilitating symptoms and is committed to helping patients get their lives back. As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Johnson operates from a more specialized training than an orthopedic spine surgeon, and always looks for the least invasive solution possible.
