Dr. Pomponi and his staff are so nice and caring. He is very compassionate and professional. He goes above and beyond for his patients health and welfare. My questions and concerns are all answered and when you leave the office, iShow morets comforting to know that doc and his staff have done everything they could for your personal needs. I felt respected and heard at this office. I am grateful for the cortisone injections, which have helped my mobility and decreased discomfort. Worked like a charm, I hope it lasts. One thing I had an issue with was the check in nuShow morerse to me I would not be seen due to my referral addressing right hip pain. She informed me of this before actually looking at my insurance card. So that was a negative right off the bat. She sort of apologized. I let it go. After that issue, the visit went very well. Mary and Mindy were both excellent. All staff were friendly. Thanks so much.
John Pomponi, DO, FAAOS, FAAHKS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and serves as director of orthopaedic surgery at Orthopaedic Surgical Consultants in Merrillville, Indiana. His mission is to provide comprehensive care to individuals living in and around Lake County.
Born in Rochester, Michigan, Dr. Pomponi earned his Bachelor of Science in pre-medical studies at the Massachusetts College of Health Sciences. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general internship at MSU’s McLaren Oakland Medical Center, where he also completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and served as chief resident.
Over the last decade, Dr. Pomponi has applied his versatile skills as an orthopaedic surgeon at many area hospitals and surgery centers, including serving as director of orthopaedic surgery at Broadwest Surgical Center in Merrillville, Indiana.

Dr. Pomponi was very kind and personal. I came in for knee pain and x-rays. He said my knees were shot he drained my knee and gave me a cortisone shot. His staff was very kind and very professional. I am so glad I went for help and relief.

All of his people were very nice,especially his nurse,Mary.. She was awesome ! He was very nice and listened to what I had to say. He didn't make me feel small ,a number or like I didn't matter.
