John Strasswimmer, MD

Dr. Strasswimmer was raised in Boston, earning both his MD and PhD from Tufts University. He served his internship at Harvard Medical School and his residency in dermatology at Yale Medical School. He returned to Harvard as also laser surgery fellow. He completed an additional one-year fellowship in Mohs Micrographic and Dermatologic Surgery through the American College of Mohs Surgery. He served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and was a staff Dermatologist at Massachusetts General Hospital prior to joining Salida Dermatology. 

Dr. Strasswimmer is the lead author of more than a dozen cutting-edge research studies and continues to carry out research in skin cancer and lasers. He is a regular speaker at national and international symposia on Dermatologic Surgery. He specializes in dermatologic surgery and along with Dr. Howard A. Green and Dr. Richard Krathen, they are three of the few fellowship trained Mohs surgeons in Florida. He is an avid traveler and performs medical mission work around the world. Dr. Strasswimmer is certified by the American Board of Dermatology, an Associate of the American College of Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine, and on the Executive Committee of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
