Dr Young is great, he has been very attentive and thorough every time I come to see him. All of his staff are very friendly and professional. They make what could be an unpleasant experience pleasant. I’ve never had any trouble Show moregetting an appointments with Dr. Young and if I’ve ever needed refills on medication, all I have to do is send them a message or give them a call and they’ve been very good about getting all my prescriptions sent into the pharmacy without any delay. I would definitely recommend Dr. Young for anyone that needs an OB/GYN doctor. I’ve never had any complaints about the service that I received when I go to see him. .

Johnny Young, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN who specializes in gynecology. He owns and operates J. Shan Young, MD, in Anniston, Alabama, and has more than 35 years of experience in caring for the health care needs of women.
Dr. Young is a compassionate, understanding physician. He’s built a career on listening to his patients’ concerns and needs before recommending treatment. Dr. Young strives to educate his patients on all of their treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their own care.
After graduating from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Young enrolled in Emory University School of Medicine. After earning his medical degree, he continued his education through Emory University School of Gynecology and Obstetrics, where he completed his OB/GYN residency and served as the chief administrative resident.
Dr. Young practiced in Jacksonville, Alabama, for 23 years until Jacksonville Medical Center merged with Northeast Alabama Medical Center. He launched his practice in Anniston in 2014, where he and his dedicated staff remain today.
As an experienced OB/GYN, Dr. Young’s priority is to deliver exceptional gynecological care to women throughout the Anniston community and surrounding neighborhoods. He provides high-quality services for women of all ages, including hormone replacement therapy for menopause, fertility evaluations, and hysterectomies.
Whether women visit Dr. Young for abnormal bleeding, uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, or endometriosis, he has the expertise and experience to meet every patient’s unique needs and health care goals.
Outside the medical office, Dr. Young is an accomplished author. He also belongs to several professional organizations, such as the Alabama Physicians for Life and the American Medical Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Young is happily married to his wife, Cynthia Bolling Young. Together, they have six children and 16 grandchildren.

I have been using Dr Young for 15 years and him and his office has always been great! I would highly recommend him to anyone needing an Ob/Gyn doctor.
My first visit was fantastic! They are very quick and efficient. The doctor spent a lot of time with me and was not in a rush. He explained things and took the time to show me examples on the screen so that I could understand and know what options I had to make an informed decision.
