The receptionist had me to finish filling out my registration form when I arrived. When called back I was asked my weight and height. Then was weighed on a floor scale. My b/p was taken by the assisting nurse. Then Dr. Atkin came Show moreto ask about why I was visiting the clinic. I told him about my concerns with the pain and knot in my stomach which was diagnosed as an abdominal Hernia by the ER doctor. Dr. Atkins examined the knot in my stomach by pressing it firmly. He indicated that the hernia was small in size. He stated that he could do an outpatient surgery to patch/cover the hernia. If not, the hernia could get worse with more pain, bleeding, vomiting and possibly needing an emergency surgery. I scheduled the outpatient surgery! The overall office visit was personable, professional and informative.
Dr. Adkins is concerned about his patients. Always willing to listen about your situation and not r-u-s-h-i-n-g. He always tries to resolve the problem. Jonathan Adkins, MD, is a skilled bariatric surgeon, leading the bariatric team at Lakeland Surgical Clinic, PLLC, located in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Adkins is a native of Biloxi and is currently the only fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon in Central Mississippi.
Dr. Adkins completed his undergraduate education at Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi, before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine here in Jackson. He completed his surgical residency at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Dr. Adkins then completed a minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

I was so pleased with my experience. I still can't get over how well I did. I had a giant hiatal hernia fixed roboticalky and I would recommend Dr. Adkins to anyone. I did not have very the first bad day and I was waiting but it never came. I felt better immediately after my surgery. I am so glad I had that done and zi thank Dr. Adkins and highly recommend him to anyone needing to get a hernia repair
