I saw Dr. Carter from the beginning of my pregnancy through delivery and I am pleased to have had her as my obstetrician. From the beginning through the end, I suffered a lot of symptoms and throughout my pregnancy I had many queShow morestions, especially as I got nearer to delivery. I felt comfortable with Dr. Carter because she answered all my questions and always backed up her opinions and suggestions on things based off of current professional knowledge and studies. Dr. Carter always kept me informed and that enabled me to informed decisions. I even shared with her my concern over being listened to by nurses who weren't familiar with me once I was in labor and delivery and she reassured me that the nurses and staff there were great and would take great care of me (and my newborn) and she was right. We received great care from the nurses and other staff during our hospital stay. Overall, itv was a positive experience working with Dr. Carter, her assistant, Angie, and the rest of the doctors and staff of Women's Health Services.

Dr. Carter came up with a great plan for me as I went in for fibroids and possible ovarian cyst. I am not pregnant but I needed to establish a relationship with a new doctor due to moving to this area recently. I was not disappointed in the lease. She is not the first doctor I have seen. I have seen a few more that I would not recommend. Dr. Carter as well as her assistant Elizabeth were both wonderful. I had to do a couple of follow-up calls with Elizabeth and she was very timely and returning my call. I have absolutely nothing negative to say from the front of the office to the back they were amazing.
Joy Carter, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN who provides outstanding care to women of all ages at Women’s Health Services. With more than 10 years of clinical experience, Dr. Carter provides a wide array of women’s health services to the communities of Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas.
Dr. Carter is dedicated to patient education and strives to empower her patients to make informed decisions about their personal health. She offers warm, compassionate care during pregnancy and for conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, uterine descensus, abnormal bleeding, and menopause.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Dr. Carter earned a Master of Science in biological science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Carter is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and she is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She and her husband, Brian, have three children. In her leisure time, she enjoys knitting and outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.

The Dr. was nice during my consultation. However, I left feeling rushed and uninformed in making a decision towards my treatment option. I was told consultation can only be 15 mins. With the current health state I'm in, desperately putting faith in this Dr. that my treatment works. It felt more like my only option.
