Joy Carter, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN who provides outstanding care to women of all ages at Women’s Health Services. With more than 12 years of clinical experience, Dr. Carter provides a wide array of women’s health services to her patients. She is now focusing her practice on gynecology and has special certification in the treatment of Menopause.
Dr. Carter is dedicated to patient education and strives to empower her patients to make informed decisions about their personal health. She offers warm, compassionate care to all patients with gynecological conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, uterine descensus, abnormal bleeding, and menopause.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Dr. Carter earned a Master of Science in biological science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Carter is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and she is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She and her husband, Brian, have three children. In her leisure time, she enjoys knitting and outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.
