I appreciate that I was able to get an appointment relatively quickly and did not have to wait months to get in. The check in process was the normal paperwork. Once I was back to the room I did not need to wait long before the nShow moreurse came in. We went over a few things. Shortly after she left Dr Sawyer came in. He was thorough, answered my questions, did the numbing of the sample locations himself and quickly took care of the problem areas. Over all friendly, efficient and thorough.
Dr Sawyer is one of the best dermatologist i have experienced since living in Arizona for 43 years. He's kept my fair skin relatively cancer free since I've been going to him. He has also initiated some new treatments on my skin Show moreto help out my thin bruised skin. Top it off he's a very kind personable person!
Justin Sawyer, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who focuses on general dermatology, skin cancer detection, prevention, and treatment. He offers expert care to patients at Skin Care Specialists in North Mesa, Arizona.
Dr. Sawyer is originally from east central Illinois. After graduating valedictorian from Mattoon High School, he attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he majored in biology. He then returned to Illinois, where he received a full congressional scholarship to the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.
After an internship in internal medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Sawyer moved to Arizona for his dermatology training. He has been practicing in Mesa since finishing his dermatology residency at the University of Arizona in 2002 in Tucson.
Dr. Sawyer received the highest score in the country on the American Board of Dermatology recertification exam.
At Skin Care Specialists, Dr. Sawyer enjoys helping his patients understand their skin conditions so that the best course of treatment can be selected. In his free time, he enjoys watching Duke basketball, researching diet and exercise science, and spending time with his wife and their two children.
